Post-marathon, I really feel the momentum of my life. I’m finishing what I start. Namely, an academic paper, a website, agreements that I’ve set with myself and others… All coming to fruition.
I truly believe acting in values leads to the exact right path. God sets the course. It’s on me to go.
If you had asked me 2 years ago about the course of my life, I would have told you I had no idea what was next. That there were a terrifying terrific amount of options. Kaylie of 2 years ago jumped “all in” from marketing to library and information science yet still had no idea which path was right. I was also at the start of what’s now a long-term, healthy, happy relationship.
Now? I still face transitions, in roles, goals, and locations. But I’m less afraid of choosing the “right” path. Life happens at these intersections.
I choose to see signs. Certainly, a marathon was not on my radar 2 years ago, but I was also already an endurance runner and a running coach. My partner? Already had 3(!) marathons under his belt when we signed up for 26.2 months ago. All these experiences were signs beckoning to a greater goal. I simultaneously believe in a power greater than myself AND my ability, momentum, and courage to try.
I am not simply reacting to the path that is life. I am the choices I make. And I no longer make them alone. Keep going, friends.
