March is Womxn’s History Month, and March 12th also marks the anniversary of my favorite organization, Girl Scouts. So, today’s spotlight is Sofia Chang, former CEO of Girl Scouts!
Sofia is one boss-lady: A child of Chinese immigrants, she is Girl Scouts’ first CEO of Asian American-Pacific Islander descent. With a background in media management, she has paved the way for other female leaders through leading HBO’s AAPI resource group, as well as serving on University of Pennsylvania’s Professional Women’s Alliance.
She’s a Girl Scout mom, lifelong Girl Scout like me, and over a short but strong tenure as Girl Scouts’ CEO, reversed declining membership within this 110+ year org that means so much to me (and countless others). Girl Scouts change the world, one camping trip, one cookie, and one champion for feminism at a time!
