Are you a creative, overachiever, or multi-potentialite who just doesn’t know where to start with your resume? Maybe you want to streamline all your skills on just one page (I’ve been there). Perhaps it’s been SO LONG since you’ve changed your position or career, you’ve forgotten the rules of the resume. Or maybe you’re Googling “resume builder”, and you’re feeling the overwhelm. You’re not alone, dear friend.
As a multimedia marketer, library/information science student, archivist, blogger, dog-sitter, and freelance editor, life is full. I do a lot, and I love it. My resume highlights other positions, too: Yearbook editor, intern at an alternative high school (where my resume skills were put to the test!), mentor in rural Jamaica… AND those are just some of the experiences that relate to my creative, service-learning resume. I even built an interactive portfolio to streamline most of my creative work.
I’ve edited 100 (and counting) resumes and short-form media. Often my editing projects are for friends’ docs, many of whom are desperately seeking their first (second or third) “adult” job “in the real world.” Some of the docs are for folks who are reentering this ever-changing workforce. I’ve helped many colleagues pivot industries, places, and roles. Myself successfully included.
No matter the industry, resume redesigns include helping people gain positions. Lately, folks have used my resume redesign knowhow for new roles in customer service, business and marketing, project management, and creative arts. Why not yours, too?
I began charging for freelance editing in 2022.
I’m not looking back! Aiming for accessibility, my services below are as low as 10 bucks. $10 gets you: my review (AKA my unbiased feedback) of up to 800 words, including unlimited revisions by you. Keep in mind, a typical resume should be no more than 800 words.
Please note: I am offering resume redesign support. A Curriculum Vitae (CV), by comparison, is a little longer than a resume. A CV is a fuller, itemized list. It is less curated than a resume. CVs are often focused on academic and/or publication pursuits. Resumes are more targeted, pointing to relevant or significant experiences that relate to the specific job(s) you are applying for. Therefore, if you want a CV, let’s set a rate together. To connect, kindly email me here with “CV Review Request” or similar subject line.
For $20, I will copy-edit/proofread your document and share my unbiased opinions. All within 2 days of purchase.
If you’d like a FULL review of your resume, including copy-editing, feedback, and design changes, it’s $30, and my turn-time is typically 2 days.
Need the doc back in one day? I’m happy to for $10 more, regardless of package.

In addition to resumes, I have edited senior capstone papers, fan-fiction stories, academic presentations, and 10(!) yearbooks. I loved editing Ripon College’s newspaper bimonthly with my gal pal, Allie. One of my latest successful editing experiences was reviewing a book by my pastor in Wisconsin. The book was published in September 2022. Here’s the link if you’d like to order one.
If you have other documents that need a redesign, email me or write a comment on this page to connect, using the subject line: “Document Review Request.”
These freelance editorial services are mainly virtual, so if needed, we can collaborate or talk about the project via video chat. We can life talk and go over goals together. I love to “coffee chat” as a way of consulting with peers (and sometimes use Venmo).
Feedback is highly encouraged, whether in the form of a testimonial or comment. In addition, if you liked working together, please consider sharing this page. I take resume redesigns super seriously, and I get results (and therefore, my clients get results, too, from jobs, promotions, school acceptance, and more)!
Freelance funds keep me caffeinated and also supports my solo adventures and grad school, so thanks in advance for collaborating or sharing this webpage. Together, we can keep showing up for the world!
Last, for all my services, I am only happy when you are. In other words, we’ll work together to revise, rewrite, and/or redesign. If you’ve used my editing and marketing services, tell your friends about me with a testimonial. Let’s put your best work in the world.
In a world where companies spend just seconds at looking at your resume it is more important than ever to stand out. Kaylie helped to revamp my format and highlighted my strengths to showcase my skills. I used her edits to apply for the next round of a competitive MBA program but ended up using it to move up to transition to a better corporate job in my company. After the interview the vice president told me good job on the resume, many people phone in it. A great service for anyone looking to move up or transition to a different industry.
Kaylie is excellent at many things, especially when it comes to resume editing. I appreciate her willingness to help. Attitude is everything, and Kaylie definitely has the attitude of helpfulness in your endeavor. She will make a format with you to fit your resume information that is sleek and concise. I trust her judgment; you should, too! With Kaylie’s version of my resume, I have a greater confidence to show off my skills and abilities. Thank you, Kaylie!
After working in the food service/hospitality industry for 15+ years, I decided to change direction and go into the design arena of marketing and communications. Although I possess the skills to do well in this new field, the application process is much different and has been the most difficult aspect of this transition. I have taken advice where I can get it, but most of that was very generic and didn’t allow for me, the person, to shine through. I have applied for so many positions and gotten so many rejections, that I had gotten to a point where I thought this may not be for me.
Having worked with Kaylie for about a year now, when she mentioned that she specialized in resume review and had a marketing background, I jumped at the chance to gain some insight from her expertise. This was the best possible decision I could have made. Kaylie made me feel at ease about presenting my resume to her, letting me know that she was there to assist, not judge. After a week, we got together to discuss what she had found and it was wonderful. She marked up suggested changes that included everything from formatting to language to how to present my skills as accomplishments and assets to potential employers. We then talked about the what needed to be added, removed or otherwise. Whenever there was something that we may have differing opinions on, it became a collaborative effort on how to best approach what was trying to be communicated. Each step of the way, Kaylie explained the ‘why’ which has been a game-changer when applying for jobs.
Since working with Kaylie and updating my resume, I am happy to say that out of the three positions I have applied for, I have been contacted for interviews from two. This has been so fantastic for my confidence and given me piece of mind that I do have the skills that employers are looking for, it was just a matter of finding the correct way to tell them about what I have to offer. I highly recommend Kaylie as a guide for creating an A-class resume!
